Amrita Sports Programming Championship – Introduction, Planning & Execution

Amrita Sports Programming Championship (ASPC) is an annual inter Amrita competitive programming competition that will be held prior to the ICPC Regionals.  The contest will be organised by the ICPC Community at Amrita. The objective of conducting such a competitive programming. Contest is to identify the talented brains across Amrita campuses and train them to be the best problem solvers in the international arena. Top brains selected through the contest will be trained by the past ICPC world finalists and regional toppers to perform well in the ICPC Regionals.

Structure of the Contest:

ASPC will be a multi-tier contest to be held online and offline to choose the best talented brains from Amrita campuses.

Preliminary Online Contest

A preliminary online contest is the first tier. This will be fully online, where the teams have to register for the contest and participate online. Teams are promoted to tier 2 based on the selection rules. The contest will be of 2.5 hours with not less than 4 problems. Eligible teams participating in the preliminary contest will be awarded Certificate of Participation. Partial scoring will be applied in the online contest.

Onsite Contest (Semi Finals)

Teams promoted from the Preliminary contest are invited to participate in the onsite contest, to be held in the Amrita Campuses. Workstations in the computer lab will be designated to each team. The contest will be of 4 hours with not less than 8 problems. Top teams from each campus are promoted to tier 3 to compete in the semi finals.

Selection: Rank list will be prepared for each campus and top teams from each campus will be invited for the onsite contest to be held in the same campus of the teams.

ASPC Winter Coding Camp

A 5 day Winter Coding Camp will be organised for the top teams selected from each campus. Teams promoted from the onsite round shall attend the winter coding camp that will end with the a contest. Toppers from the coding camp will be offered free registration for the Asia Amritapuri ICPC Regional.

Who can participate?

Any student enrolled in a graduate/integrated/post graduate programme at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham alone can participate in the contest. It is mandatory to participate in all the rounds, if promoted failing by which the team member will be barred from attending the future activities of ICPC Community.
